Double Head Dog

Science, especially in the wartime period, presents strange experiments that force even dreams, depending on the vast amount of material and spiritual support offered to scientists. Some odd experiments even made for science years ago can be followed with surprise by people even today. One of the strange events done by science is the double-headed dog experiment. Vladimir Demikhov The double-headed dog experiment was carried out by the Soviet scientist Vladimir Demikhov. When Vladimir Demikhov is mentioned, the first organ transplantation experiments in history come to mind. Vladimir Demikhov has experimented with various organ transplants between 1930 and 1950, even today with untried methods. The dog head is transported if they come up to the day and get the most noise from them. Vladimir Demikhov was working on people, especially if he succeeded in ruthlessly trying his work on animals. When we examine what the Soviet scientist does, we can say that he is trapped in the thin line between genius and madness. Double-headed dog experiment The Soviet scientist, who had already started preparations for the double-headed dog experiment, took the first step in experimenting by placing the artificial blood pump on the dog he could use in the experiment. After getting the return he hoped for in the blood-pump dog, he took another step closer to the double-headed dog experiment by putting on a second heart other than his own. In order to place the second heart in the dog, he chose to use this part by taking some of his lungs from his body. After the second heart transplant has been performed, it is observed that the inserted heart can work independently of the first heart. Dogs that survived as two-hearted dogs were observed to have lived for approximately two and a half months after the experiment. Vladimir Demikhov, who went to the double-headed dog experiment after these experiments he considered successful, tried to surgically cut the head of a dog and transfer it to another dog. The scientist who chooses a puppy for the first experiment to experiment, cuts the dog's head together with two legs and transports it to an adult dog. It is because the organs to be transported are chosen from a puppy and the choice of an adult body for the transplanted body is due to the fact that the adult has the power to pump enough blood to sustain the life of the heart in the adult body. Thanks to the successful transplant in the beginning, the two heads in the same body could drink milk independently of each other, even joking each other and emitting even their ears. However, despite all this, transplanted and transplanted dogs were exposed to unspeakable harshness and their deaths occurred about 1 month after transplantation. However, it was normal for such a situation to be experienced in the double-headed dog experiment conducted by Vladimir Demikhov when it was thought that even nowadays organ transplant is not accepted immediately by the body and the body is fatigued and weak in this process. Double-headed dog When examined in contemporary conditions, it can easily be said that the transplants carried out by the Soviet scientist seemed ruthless, but inspired subsequent scientists. Years later, the American surgeon, Robert White, was inspired by past experiments and made his head move in the monkeys. It should not be forgotten that these experiments may be the inspiration for the applications to be made in the near or far future in the name of humanity.
